Covid-19
How has Corona Virus affected practice?
Practitioners registered with the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) in the UK may re-open their practices and carry out acupuncture treatment under 'careful practice' provided they follow new guidelines and are covid secure.
What precautions are in place for future treatment?
The AAC have produced guidelines on returning to practice, ensuring the treatment room is made Covid-19 secure following government recommendations. I have carried out a Covid-19 risk assessment to meet this criteria.
I will be screening patients before every appointment.
What cleaning procedures will be implemented?
The treatment room will be regularly disinfected throughout the day. You will be asked to use hand sanitiser on your hands in reception before you make your way up to stairs to the treatment room. I will continue to wash my hands or use hand sanitiser frequently throughout treatment.
Internal and external door handles and the treatment table will be disinfected in between patients. Fresh couch roll will be used for every patient. Pillowcases are wipeable and will be sanitised between each patient.
What do I need to bring with me?
You may wish to bring a drink of water with you, unfortunately I can’t provide water at this time.
I can no longer provide blankets for each patient; you may wish to bring a blanket with you if you have a tendency to feel cold during treatment. Please note that I will have the window open in the treatment room.
Please leave any other personal belongings in your car.
What should I expect when I arrive for my appointment?
Please do not arrive at the clinic until your allotted treatment time, please use the door entry system to advise me of your arrival. I will then come down to meet you and bring you up to the room. I will be staggering appointment times to ensure patients do not crossover and to allow time for cleaning in between appointments.
